Meet Doug Ingram
The Parts Manager at Young Freightliner
Doug Ingram has been with Young Trucks for ten years, working his way through nearly every role in the Parts business—Core, Back Counter, Front Counter, Warehouse, and into leadership as Parts Supervisor and Assistant Parts Manager. After serving as Parts Manager at Young Volvo, Doug returned
to Young Freightliner in 2023 to lead the Parts department. Today, he oversees the parts counter team, the delivery fleet, and the fulfillment warehouse, while also helping launch new initiatives.
Q: What do you enjoy most about working in Parts and with your team at Young Freightliner?
Doug: The people. Every day I get to work with a great group of teammates who are committed to supporting our customers and keeping trucks on the road. I also enjoy the variety—no two days are ever the same. Whether it’s helping a customer track down the right OE part, managing the warehouse flow, or making sure our delivery fleet runs smoothly, there’s always something new to tackle.
Q: You’ve also completed leadership training and earned certification as an expert in OE parts. How has that shaped your approach to your role?
Doug: Both experiences gave me the tools to better support the team and our customers. The leadership training at Kent State helped me develop my management style and taught me the importance of communication and accountability. The OE certification gave me a deeper understanding of our products, which helps me ensure we’re providing the right solutions and guidance for customers who rely on us to keep their trucks up and running.
Q: Looking ahead, what excites you most about the future at Young Trucks?
Doug: I’m excited about the growth. With the new dealership coming in 2026, we’ll have even more capacity and resources to serve our customers. On the parts side, I’m looking forward to continuing to support customers with more ways to buy and partner with Young Trucks to meet their business objectives. We want to make sure we’re meeting customers wherever they need us, whether that’s in person, on the phone, or online.
Q: The Southway Street location is also a hub for our delivery fleet and fulfillment warehouse. What’s unique about managing those areas in addition to the parts counter?
Doug: It adds another layer of coordination. Our drivers are out every day covering a wide area, and our fulfillment warehouses are a key part of serving customers quickly and accurately. Making sure those pieces are aligned within the parts department helps us operate as one seamless unit – it keeps us sharp and ensures we’re delivering value. One example is the new parts delivery notifications we’re getting ready to roll out. That’s something I’ve been working on with the team to give customers real-time updates on their deliveries, which will make the whole process even more efficient and transparent for the customer.
Q: Finally, what is something people may not know about you?
Doug: Something people may not know about me is that I was a bodybuilder in the past, and now I’m
getting back into lifting and training. I also enjoy spending quality time with my wife and daughter.
