Meet Dan Weisand
The Man Behind the Parts at Young Trucks
With more than 30 years of experience in retail, distribution, and parts management, Dan brings a unique blend of leadership, logistics, and hands-on parts knowledge to his role as Parts Director at Young Trucks. We sat down with Dan to learn more about his background, his vision for the department, and what parts customers should know right now.
Q: What is your #1 piece of advice for maximizing the life of truck parts?
Dan: Stay on top of your preventive maintenance schedule. It sounds simple, but it makes a huge difference. Also, use quality parts—it’s an investment that always pays off in uptime and safety.
Q: How do you ensure customers get the right part the first time?
Dan: Training, systems, and experience. Our team knows the platforms we support inside and out, and we’ve got great digital tools to back them up. We also keep close relationships with our vendors to ensure we’re getting accurate, up-to-date data.
Q: What are you most excited about with the new Canton facility?
Dan: It’s a game changer. With 65,000 square feet and state-of-the-art systems, we’ll be able to serve customers faster, stock more critical parts, and continue expanding our vendor network. It’s all about improving uptime and convenience for our customers.
Q: What's something customers might not realize about how your department works?
Dan: A lot of people don’t realize how much planning goes into the parts you see on the shelf. From forecasting to vendor coordination to quality checks—there’s a lot behind the scenes to make sure we’re ready when our customers need us.
