Meet Steve Murphy
The Service Director at Young Trucks
With nearly two decades of experience at Young Trucks, Steve Murphy brings a technician’s perspective and a leader’s focus to our service operations. From shop floor to strategy, he’s played a vital role in raising the standard of service our customers count on. Here’s a quick Q&A to help you get to know him.
Q: How did your journey with Young Trucks begin?
Steve: I started as a technician in 2006 and worked my way up to foreman. Over the years, I moved into leadership roles, most recently as Service Manager and now Service Director. That time in the shop taught me how important fast, reliable service is to our customers—and that’s what I still focus on today.
Q: What are you excited about with the new Young Freightliner/Isuzu dealership?
Steve: The new facility gives us more tools to serve our customers better—more bays, better parts access, and a more efficient layout. It’s designed to improve our turnaround times and the overall service experience.
Q: What does Elite Support mean for your team and your customers?
Steve: It’s our promise to deliver consistent, high-quality service with transparency and speed. Our team is trained and certified to meet those expectations every day—it’s something we take a lot of pride in.
Q: Are there any trends in commercial truck service that customers should know about?
Steve: Trucks are more advanced than ever, so diagnostics and technician training are key. We’re also seeing more fleets prioritize preventive maintenance, which helps reduce unexpected downtime and repair costs.
